The story behind spirify

"Another grasshopper!" The summer of 2023 has held an amazing number of the green creatures for me. After chasing the third one out of our bedroom in a matter of weeks (alive, of course), a thought occurred to me, "Does the grasshopper actually have any special significance? Why does he show up so often in my life?"

Setting off into the unknown

The short answer is, yes, it does! The grasshopper practically jumps from a standing start and symbolically stands for departure. For courage. For something new. And wow, this came at an absolutely opportune moment in my life. In fact, I've been thinking about a career change for weeks - one that you don't make lightly, but one that literally screams "risk."

After reading up on the significance of the grasshopper as a spirit animal, I decided to take a chance. I made a decision, quit my job (with no new one in sight), and took the plunge into the unknown.

The crazy thing: since then, one door after another has opened. Doors that I hadn't seen at all before. Doors that may not have been there at all. And all because the grasshopper gave me the courage I needed at that moment.
